The early years of the 21st century have been the beginning of a renaissance in art and culture. In the past few decades, technology has changed cultural businesses (e.g. the music industry or newspapers etc.).

In every cultural medium (i.e. movies, music, books, etc.), digital technology gives a voice to new creators and explores new formats that allows fans to participate.

People now pay for online subscriptions, such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, Spotify, etc. They also pay for smaller and less-mainstream content (e.g. podcasts, YouTube stars, novelists etc.).

Lastly, Social Media help artists to connect with their fans. Artists can also sell merchandise online and create fan-only promotions and content.
